Proven purchase of Faulty Car - Blame shift from Dealership
In March this year we Purchased a Mahindra Scorpio N from Mahindra in Louis Trichardt. In the beginning we picked up that the Climate controls did not work and were told that there is a software issue and they need to get the new software uploaded to activate all the correct function this took us multiple trips up and down to get sorted. After getting it sorted the problems came one after the other since purchasing the car in March till now the car has been to the dealership every single month for days on end, where in July it was even sent to another dealership in Polokwane for over a week . Software issues keep on appearing just as one is sorted another happens such as car resetting cluster by itself , battery light going on and off while driving , entertainment system rebooting while driving , vehicle not wanting to engage cruise control, tyre pressure monitor system giving alert for tyre being 170 degrees Celsius , tyre pressure monitor system giving alert for low tyre pressure on a tyre which is over 2.2 bar and other tyres are below that but no warnings on them, a constant noise on front right wheel , aircon setting and adjusting itself while driving, car gave a service due warning after being serviced when we took the car back to zero the warning they said they already cancelled the warning light 3 times prior and then after being to Mahindra the first week of September the Trailer plug installed by Mahindra fused. Every time we complain about the car they blame shift eg. what phones are we using and what cables are we using we did assure them we have new Samsung phones and are using their original cables, the tyre is giving issues due to a gaiter in the tyre we have fixed this and yet again a issue came after that, our trailer plug that fused is due to the trailer wiring this is not true as we used the same trailer on the car before multiple times with no issues but came back with this problem from the dealership after being in for yet another issue, there is rocks in our side step that is the noise we are hearing on the tyre they removed the rocks but the noise continued, the aircon that adjusts itself was said as that it is the new update that when it is hot it adjusts according to the temperature also not true as it happened just past 6am the morning at 14 degrees Celsius. Everytime the car needs to return to them I have to take off from work to drop it off same with pickups although I must thank them for providing me with Curtesy vehicles I need to put fuel in as I get empty cars I never know how long they are going to keep my car so when they give my car back I give them a car with fuel left in. I drive quite a distance every day putting in R100 at a time is not a option as I don't know other vehicles and cant afford running out of fuel as I drive my children around on unsafe roads. This vehicle purchase is a great disappointment and truly the worst mistake we have made we traded in our bakkie which had under 40k km on for something with a warranty because I drive far everyday and we wanted to have that backup that if something happens we are covered now we constantly take it in for warranty issues.
This is a big frustration and we no longer trust the vehicle and the brand. We were told to take videos when issues happen and to report issues as they happen which we try do but it serves as a safety risk to constantly have to drive with a phone ready for issues that may occur never mind it being ******* we have sent multiple videos and photos. Every time we report a issue we are told we need to wait for Mahindra to find fault.
We are at ends road with the constant return to the dealership we bought a new vehicle to for enjoyment and family time but we aren't able to enjoy it as it is at the dealership constantly.
