OUR NEW BAKKIE SOLD TO SOMEONE ELSE

My terrible experience with Mahindra (Eagle) starts late Feb 2022, early March 2022 where my son enquired to purchase a new Mahindra Pik Up 2.2 mHawk S6 Refresh P/U S/C. The purchase is a cash deal with a trade in. My son specifically chose the silver bakkie over the white as it was his preferred colour of choice.

An OTP was sent through on 8 March 2022. just before payment was made, our salesman Zwele just happened to mention to my son that the canapy would be white? The bakkie is silver, but the canapy would be white and my son would then have to have it spray painted privately to match the colour of the bakkie. i almost flipped. i couldn't believe it and already then wanted to rather take our business elsewhere, but because my son wanted that silver bakkie and not the standard white, we allowed Zwele an opportunity to resubmit the OTP but to include the R3500 to have the canopy colour coded to match the bakkie. The only reason we stuck around after this (may i add) is because the silver bakkie was the last one left in the country. after the canopy ordeal i would (under any other circumstance) already gone elsewhere.

in the interim, we discovered that we had misplaced the registration papers for the trade in car. we just couldn't find the original and since the it was a trade in we needed to find them. Zwele suggested we contact a guy he knows to apply for a duplicate. His contact has his own "Q 4 U" type of business so could fast track the process in obtaining the duplicate. We paid the amount that was requested to fast track the duplicate. on the 22/03/2022 the balance of R247 893.50 was paid to Eagle Mahindra to secure the purchase while we wait for the duplicate registration document.

Today my son gets a call to say that his bakkie has been sold to someone else?

i am absolutely livid. i have left messages for the Service Manager (Irvin) to phone me back but seems he is never getting out of a meeting - as that has been what ive been told since i called this morning. he is in a meeting. H/O number *** just rings. nobody answers. When i called Zwele he said he would send me an email and include the manager so everyone understood what was going on. Zwele said that because the balance of R70k (the trade in car) was still outstanding, they could not keep the car. this despite the R247k being paid as a security deposit to secure the car. also Zwele understanding the situation that we were waiting for the duplicate registration document which we have been told will be ready on Wednesday 16/04. Zwele understanding the entire scenario, just allows someone to purchase the bakkie without even giving us a curtesy call to let us before just selling it.

There are currently only 2 choices Mahindra has. 1. get the bakkie back from the person who it was sold to and explain what a huge f*up they have made. 2. give us our money back and we will go elsewhere (NOT Mahinda) or 3. get us a silver vehicle (exactly the same as what we "purchased"). Tried sorting this out telephonically, but nobody is getting back to us or returning our calls, so have had to resort to alternative methods. hopefully someone at Mahindra takes this seriously and gets back to me today.
