Mahindra SA customer care

Email send to Mahindr SA more than two weeks ago and still no response and both bakkies standing for more than a month now waiting to get repaired.

Dear Mahindra South Africa Customer Care,

I am writing to formally express my serious dissatisfaction with two Mahindra bakkies purchased in 2024. These vehicles were acquired through your authorized dealerships with full confidence in the Mahindra brand, its reliability, and its after-sales support. Unfortunately, my experience has been deeply disappointing, marked by continuous mechanical and electrical failures, poor service quality, and unresolved safety concerns.

Vehicle 1 VIN: MA1RA2VK2R*** Purchased: May 2024 Serviced by: Mahindra Middelburg

Issues Experienced:

Mechanical Faults: Power steering pump failure. Drive shaft failure. Brake failure immediately following a service, resulting in complete brake loss on-site—posing a serious risk to employee safety. Electrical Problems: Burnt-out wiring harness—vehicle was completely inoperable (no lights, no ignition). Headlight globes fail every 1–2 days, suggesting deeper electrical faults. Reliability Issues: Frequent breakdowns and repeat visits to the service center have rendered the vehicle unreliable for our operational needs.

Vehicle 2 VIN: MA1RA@VK2R2F36428 Purchased: November 2024 Serviced by: Mahindra Witbank

Issues Experienced:

Mechanical Faults: Drive belt has failed more than four times. Alternator failure shortly after 10,000km service—due to dirt build-up, pointing to inadequate inspection. Power steering pump failure within days of a service (replaced under warranty but with more than a week of downtime). Drive shaft failed on the highway the same day the vehicle was returned from service. One day after bakkie was collected from service the left foot hub came off and is damaged without parts to fix it

Reliability Issues: This vehicle spends more time in the workshop than in the field, making it completely unfit for use in our security patrol operations. Overall Impact

These recurring and unresolved issues have: Compromised the safety of my employees. Caused significant operational disruption and financial loss. Damaged my trust in the Mahindra brand and its after-sales service. Both vehicles were serviced at Mahindra-approved centers, yet the problems either persist or reappear shortly after each repair, raising serious concerns about the workmanship and quality control within your service network.
