Mahindra new vehicle problems
To whom it may concern,
I bought a new 2017 Mahindra TUV300 1.5TD on 6 May 2017.
August 2017 it went for the first service. They had to replace the Driver's side safety belt. They ordered it and it was replaced during November 2017.
During Feb 2018 it went for the 30 000km service. The passenger seatbelts for front and rear was broken and they ordered it.
A week after the service there was a noise in my gearbox when changing gears and when driving. I took the vehicle to Mahindra Mahikeng and told the Service advisor (Terrence) about the problem. He's responce was that they will look at the problem when they're going to replace the seatbelts.
The next morning (Friday) there was an oil spill. I had to contact roadside assist to take the vehicle to Mahindra Mahikeng. Niel from Mahindra told me there was a problem with the crankshaft. They replaced it and I got my vehicle the following Monday.
22 March 2018 There was a noise again. I phoned Mahindra Mahikeng (Terrence). They could only assist me on Tuesday 27 March 2017. On 23 March 2018 the vehicle gave a low engin oil pressure warning. I had to call roadside assist again. Mahindra replaced the centre bearing, the oil pressure switch and the rear and front passenger seatbelts.
I phoned Mahindra SA to lodge a complaint. I required about a curtousy vehicle and if Mahindra SA are prepared to refund me due to the fact that I bought a new vehicle. Hilda told me if they cannot fix the vehicle the will refund me (book value of vehicle minus total km x AA tariff which is R5/km) and that they don't have the facility of a curtousy vehicle because it is too costly - R300/day for insurance.
I was without a vehicle untill 28 March 2018.
19 April 2018 I was on my way to fetch my child at School. Due to riots in NW the school sent a message to parents to collect their children as soon as possible. I was approximitely 120km away from home at 21:00 when the vehicle again made a noise. I was stranded 2km before Biesiesvlei NW. I had to call roadside assist again. Mahindra could arrange for a vehicle for 24 hours but I had to pay R750 if I pay with a credit card and R1500 if I pay cash which is refundable, otherwise I had to make my own arrangements. The vehicle was picked up by roadside assist by 22:00.
It appears that it is the centre bearing again but is not confirmed yet.
I am without a vehicle again. Due to riots in Mahikeng and surroundings I am not sure when the roadside assist company will be able to take my vehicle to the nearest Mahindra branch.
The vehicle's got 40400km on the clock.
Mahindra cannot provide me with a vehicle and am not willing to refund me unless I buy the more expensive XUV500.
It is not safe for me to drive the vehicle if there is a problem so often. I am staying on a farm and travel 82km to work and back each day and 280km to Sannieshof every Friday to fetch my child.
I am now without a vehicle again.
I phoned Mahindra SA this morning but Hilda was not available.
Can you please assist me with this?
Thank you L Prinsloo
