Mahindra Lyndeburg non-existing after sales
Good day,
I would like to bring forward the following complaints with regards to Mahindra Lydenburg:
At the 5000km service in May 2017 the mechanic driving the Mahindra Scorpio launched a complaint with Belinda at Lydenburg Mahindra that the bakkie is losing power and that by the sound of the engine, it sounds like the bakkie is running on only three (3) cylinders and on cold mornings the bakkie knocks (diesel knock) like an old farm tracktor. Belinda said that she will make a note of it in order for the technician to do a diagnostic test. Upon collecting the bakkie after the service Roelf the driver was informed that the diagnostic did not indicate any deficiencies on the bakkie.
Three days after the service Roelf then phoned Mahindra Lydenburg again and informed Belinda that he is still experiencing the same issues with the bakkie. Belinda informed Roelf that when the bakkie is due for its 15000km they will do another diagnostic but the previous one indicated no problems.
In October 2017 the bakkie went to Lydenburg Mahindra for its 15000km service. Belinda was informed again that the bakkie is still losing power and that it still sounds like running on three cylinders from time to time. Belinda said that she will once again ask the technician to look at it and run another diagnostic. When collecting the bakkie and on the way to Steelpoort the bakkie still had the same issues. According to Mahindra they took the bakkie for a drive on the Longtom pass and according to them there is nothing wrong with the bakkie.
On the 20000km service Willem another driver also complained about the same issue on the bakkie.
On the 30000km service Lize, who is in Belinda’s place was informed of the losing power and 3 cylinder noise on the bakkie. Upon collecting the bakkie after the service the technician informed Willem that they could not find any problems on the bakkie and that he must continue driving it until it breaks down then they will know the origin of the problem.
On Tuesday 26 June 2018, we took the bakkie on our own expense to Steve’s Auto Clinic for a dyno/diagnostic after explaining the problem to them. Steve’s Auto Clinic changed two diesel filters due to the loss of fuel supply. They continued with the dyno and adjusted a few settings before they came to the conclusion that the problem is with the diesel pump. I phoned Gath McGee of Ford/Mahindra Lydenburg and he said he will transfer me to the workshop. Wynand answered the phone and Roelf asked if he can come to see him, and Wynand said he will wait for him. Roelf showed the diagnostic papers to Wynand and that the problem from day one remains the loss of power and sounds like running on 3 cylinders. Wynand then advised me to make a booking with Mahindra Ldenburg for Friday 29 June 2018 due to technician being on training. Wynand advised that as soon as the bakkie is in the workshop they must inform him so that he can go through the bakkie with them. So Roelf went to Lize and made the booking and Lize informed Roelf that they will do another diagnostic and should the diesel pump be faulty they will order and replace it.
On Friday 29 June 2018 the bakkie was taken to Lydenburg Mahindra as requested. On 2 July 2018 the bakkie was collected and Willem was informed that the solenoid on the diesel pump was faulty and they repaired the solenoid. On our way to Steelpoort the same issues still presented itself.
Roelf phone Lize and informed her that the same problem still remains. Lize said that she is waiting for Corrie to come back from leave to inform her of any costs relating to the work done on the solenoid, or if it is a warrenty claim or cash. Since then I haven’t heard from Mahindra Lydenburg.
Regards,
