Mahindra Centurion - Poor and ********* Service
I bought a vehicle from Mahindra Centurion with a Motorite mechanical warranty. The vehicle has missed 2 major services according to the service history book, previous owner. When I took the vehicle for it's first service, and to look at turbo, as it was making a terrible noise, the mechanic informed that he could see that the vehicle was not serviced at all for a long time. The turbo needs to be replaced and he said it was because of not being serviced for an extended period. I then phoned Mahindra Centurion and they gave me a quote of R20 000 to replace the turbo after I explained to them that this should have been picked up during the pre- delivery inspection, the vehicle sales manager also agreed. This means that I have to pay another R10 000 excess after paying R16 000 for the Motorite warranty. After asking for discount on the quote, I have now been informed a week later, after following up daily, that they cannot give me a better price. I will therefore have the turbo reconditioned somewhere else, as I am not prepared to pay this amount. I think this whole mess happened because I bought the car at the end of the month and they were trying to push through the sale. I would not recommend this dealership to anybody. Motorite also informed me that it was the dealerships responsibility to service the vehicle as part of the pre-delivery inspection.
