Extremely Disappointed – Misleading Sale and Shocking Service

Extremely Disappointed – Misleading Sale and Shocking Customer Service

In September 2024, we made the mistake of purchasing an Opel Mokka from Mahindra Bela Bela, trading in a perfectly working vehicle as part of the deal. It quickly became clear that we had been misled—and that the dealership has no interest in standing behind what they sell.

A few months after the transaction, we received a traffic fine of R1,200—issued after the trade-in had already been finalized. We immediately contacted our salesperson, Anet Peyper, and eventually escalated the matter to the dealer principal. It took two full weeks of repeated follow-ups before the fine was finally paid—something that should’ve been resolved promptly and professionally.

Then, in January 2025, the real problems began. The Opel Mokka developed multiple mechanical issues, so we contacted Anet again—only to be ignored. When we reached out to the dealer principal, Franco, we were told that Anet no longer worked there. However, no solution was provided. The dealership completely distanced itself from any responsibility, despite the fact that the problems clearly stemmed from the vehicle they sold us. Since then, we’ve had to replace:

• Ball Joints • Thermostat • Water Bottle • Water Pump • Tapit Cover Gasket • Head Gasket (including engineering and pressure testing of the head) • Turbo • Several water line pipes

When the vehicle was stripped for repairs, it became evident that the car had previously been repaired for overheating issues—and not properly. A "quick fix" had been done just to cover it up.

All of this from a vehicle that was sold to us as “recently serviced.” Not only was there no antifreeze in the system, but the kilometers recorded in the service book did not match the odometer at the time of sale.

To make matters worse, we were advised to claim from the warranty, only to find out that it would barely cover 20% of the repair costs. We traded in a newer, problem-free vehicle for one that is now falling apart.

This entire experience has been nothing short of a disaster. The dealership has shown zero accountability, extremely poor communication, and what appears to be deliberate misrepresentation. I would strongly caution anyone considering doing business with Mahindra Bela Bela—especially if Anet Peyper is involved. From what we’ve since learned, this is not the first time she’s done something like this to a customer.

Stay far away.
