BAD EXPIERENCE WITH MAHINDRA AND SERVICE RECEIVED FROM MAHINDRA BRITS

Our experience with our Mahindra Bolero Bakkie and service received from Mahindra Brits has been nothing but disappointing. We bought a Mahindra Bolero Bakkie from Mahindra Brits in 2018 – cash! Before we bought the Mahindra we explained to the sales person that our company does work all over South Africa, Botswana, Namibia and Zambia, so the employees and company vehicles travels very far away and is for long periods of time away before coming back and heading to the next project.

When vehicles come back from these long trips, they might be over their service km since they are unable to return when projects are not completed. Thus the reason that we need services to be conducted when the vehicle is back even when over service intervals , as well as assistance in short notice, since we are not always able to know when the vehicle will be back and when they will depart again. They agreed that this would not be a problem, but in this matter we received the opposite – they were not always able to assist in short notice and we had to service the vehicle at a different dealer in order for the vehicle to leave on time.

When we send the vehicle for a service about 2 weeks ago, we reported that there is something wrong with the diff – the mechanics did check, and indeed the diff has to be replaced. (Not sure how a vehicle with only 53 000 km is able to break a diff – is this poor workmanship from the manufacturer?) Mahindra advised us that the warranty on the vehicle is now expired at 50 000 km and that they won’t be able to replace under warranty and also due to the fact that the vehicle was not serviced at Mahindra the previous time - But the company that serviced the vehicle the previous time is registered at RMI to do so?!?

Up to date we had 9 Kia’s, with whom we had the same service agreement and who is always willing to go out of their way to assist - We feel that Mahindra is not willing to assist us with our needs that were clearly explained at the beginning of our transaction – even when the vehicle now only has 53 000km on the odometer! Surely there should be a way for Mahindra to still assist in replacing the diff under warranty? We are unhappy and unsatisfied with the quality of the vehicle as well as the service received from Mahindra Brits.

Thank you
