2nd Poor service from Mahindra in Pretoria. Safe yourself headaches and money.

I bought a brand new Mahindra Scorpio SUV in 2014 from a Mahindra Branch in Menlyn Pretoria which has closed down since then. Another branch opened in Menlyn Pretoria just 1km from where I live and I took the vehicle in for the 20 00km service at this new Mahindra branch. The vehicle did not start the next morning after the service was done. The Mechanics from Mahindra found sand in the petrol filter which blocked the diesel. This I reported to Mahindra customer care. This branch is also not operative anymore.

For the 30 000km service I took the vehicle to Mahindra Montana. They could not find the problem on the locking mechanism which I brought under their attention.

As there are no Mahindra branches in the Menlyn Pretoria anymore I took the vehicle in for the 40 000km to Mahindra Montana. For a 2nd time they could not solve the locking mechanism problem. On this service I was told all the different oils where changed. I took my son to the Kruger National Park for a break from his studies right after this service and a plug fell out at the bottom and the oil ran out. This poor service delivered caused that the vehicle had to be picked up in the Kruger Park (where we pitched tent) and transported to Nelspruit Mahindra. According to the mechanic at Nelspruit Mahindra we were very lucky that the plug did not fell out earlier when driving on the N4 as this would have damaged the vehicle significantly. I was in contact with Mahindra Montana (Abrey) regarding the arrangements to get the vehicle repaired and did not receive any calls afterwards from Mahindra Montana once I was dumped onto Nelspruit Mahindra. After Nelspruit Mahindra did the necessary repairs I drove back to the Kruger Park where we camped. As it was after hours to enter the Kruger Park, I had to pay an additional R500 at the gate. This is apart from the disruption in our holiday and the extra diesel and the R59 tollgate which was for my own expense. I phoned Mahindra Montana (Abrey) the next day to inform him of the costs incurred and it would not have happened if they did a proper service. I wanted Mahindra Montana to cover these costs which would only be fair. His "don't care" attitude caused me to phone Mahindra customer care which he(Abrey) actually encouraged. I phoned Mahindra customer care regarding the discussion I had with Mahindra Montana (Abrey) and it was said that the dealer is not responsible for any additional costs occurred by me although they were responsible for a poor service which led to all of this. Mahindra customer care did however phone Mahindra Montana to discuss the matter. After Mahindra customer care discussed the matter with Mahindra Montana I was informed that Mahindra Montana will pay the R500 fee for the late entry into the Kruger Park and there was a misunderstanding between them and me. I phoned Mahindra Montana (Abrey) and gave him the banking details on 29 July where he ensured me he will have it sorted the Monday 1 August. No payment has been made yet and I have phoned Mahindra Montana (Abrey) on 10 August to enquire about the payment. Mahindra Montana (Abrey) said he will take it up with "Willie" who I think is his senior and get back to me on the same day. This did not happen and just more proof of the poor service delivered and don't care attitude from Mahindra Montana.

Apart from this my wife was in the process of securing funds to buy a new Mahindra vehicle at this branch. The car salesman was still working out a deal to present to my wife. Well with the poor services received, don't care attitudes and nobody following up if a customer is satisfied, we will not be purchasing any Mahindra whatsoever.

I asked Mahindra customer care to tell me which Mahindra branch they recommend where I can get a service where the work is done as expected with no comebacks or worries which will end up for my own cost. Mahindra Brits was the only one recommended.
