******** and *********** staff & management

<p>Im currently renting a flat with Mafadi in Honeydew, Roodepoort.</p> <p>I have been here for less than a year and am extremely frustrated and have been deprived of my rights.</p> <p>I have asked when i first moved in,to have the shower fixed as it continuiosly drips water and 3 plates on the stove does not work and trips the power.</p> <p>I acknowledge that I currently owe 1 months rent to them and have made arrangements through their *********** credit controller Sthembiso, who had confirmed on numerous occasions to send/ forward the corresponding documents for the arrangements but never did send them. I then receive a letter ( not a court order) stating that if i dont pay the balance i will be evicted from the flat, when questioned about it they insist that there was nothing signed or noted on their systems regarding any arragements. They have previously cut off the electricity and water, and demanded payment before they can turn it back on. </p> <p> </p> <p>About a week ago Mafadi had sent people during working hours, with no prior arrangement/ notice, to lock the doors of flats that are outstanding on rent. My neighbour who had heard someone at my gate , confronted the guy who claimed to have been sent by some person standing in the parking lot. when asked to produce identification, he just pointed to a man and proceeded to do what he wanted. </p> <p> </p> <p>While speaking to the credit controller about the people who were allowed to open my gate and door& after telling him that they don't have the right to lock the doors or send people to open the flat without prior arrangements, he tells me that he does not handle the account and its been handed to another company. When i ask who these people are, i am told that they are sub-contracted to Mafadi but no communication was given about them. After contacting the Sub-contracted people about opening the doors i am told that i need to speak to Stembiso, who initially told me that i need to speak to the sub-contracted person in charge.</p> <p> </p> <p>I have spoken to a higher mangement, Nandi, who also does not obey the law. When explained that i have been locked out for almost a week with no court order presented and asked when the doors will be opened, i am told i can go ahead and report to the housing tribunal and they will not open the doors until i pay them what is owed.</p> <p> </p> <p>Despite the above,the security at the gate is pathetic, they let anyone in without signing or even checking who it is. In the early hours of the morning there a various vehicles driving up and down the parking lot making noise and the security does nothing about it.</p> <p> </p> <p>What is the rent paid for?</p> <p> </p> <p>What kind of business does not adhere to the basic operational requirements or abide by the law???</p> <p>Tenants belongings are not safe nor are the tenants themselves.</p> <p> </p> <p>Mafadi operate with a bunch of *********** and ******** staff, they have no operational ethics.</p> <p> </p>
