Refusal to Payback Deposit

This estate agent has been giving us the run around with regards to our deposit and the interest (as per the lease agreement). The fabricated stories they have given us are out of this world, just because they want to ***** us out of our hard-earned money. They made up stories of how we left the place in a mess,breaking their things in the unit etc,in an effort to swindle us out of our deposit. They even went as far as fabricating a statement,showing that we owe them money,but we could see right through them,eventually they agreed to pay us back as they could not give us proof of the things they claimed to have fixed in our unit. But we are still waiting patiently, we had moved out on the 31st of July 2017.
