Mafadi Properties refusing to refund NSFAS accommodation payments

I had an agreement with Mafadi Properties in 2024 through one of their agents that once NSFAS paid for my accommodation, Mafadi would refund the money I had been paying out of my own pocket. NSFAS did pay Mafadi Properties for my accommodation. Despite this, Mafadi is now refusing to refund my money, claiming that there is no evidence that NSFAS paid, which is not true. My campus manager personally contacted the Mafadi agent to confirm that NSFAS had indeed made the payment to Mafadi. I am also not the only student experiencing this issue. Another student who stayed at one of Mafadi’s properties faced the same problem. In her case, a Mafadi agent confirmed in October that NSFAS had paid for her accommodation, but when she tried to claim her refund, she was told that the financial office could not trace her money. This situation is extremely frustrating and unfair to students who re**** on clear agreements and official NSFAS payments. Mafadi Properties has failed to honour their agreement and has shown poor communication and accountability. I am requesting that Mafadi Properties refund the money owed to me as agreed, and that they address this issue transparently, as it appears to be affecting multiple students.
