Mac PAVILION - Disappointed!!!!

Mac has always been my go to store... as a make up ***** I spend thousands on face and lip products at Mac. The pavilion is the closest to me therefore I am frequently there. Last week I visited mac and was speaking to the consultants about the retro colors that I love and mentioned one of my favorite retro matte colour "recollection" which she acknowledged which colour it was. A week later I noticed that this same lipstick of mine called recollection which I purchased months ago had deattached its lip applicator to the bottle.. I called the store stating what has happened and again mentioned the name of the lipstick and the consultant said that this is a usual case of these lipsticks bottles and she will perform a refund (she did not ask me to bring a receipt or ask me when I had bought it as she sounded confident on their policy of refund). I had left work early and drove in the rain to the Pavilion branch where I spoke to both the manager and another consultant as the consultant that I spoke too on the phone (who I will not mention on this public platform) was not in. The manager and the consultant told me that they can't do an exchange as this colour Is discontinued and that the best they can do for me is tape my lipstick up. I was in disbelief as I told the manager well why aren't the staff clued up about their offering and T&Cs. This is a global brand irrespective of the discontinuation of a product which is not the customers fault by any way... how will this product be useful to them now by it drying and having a defected bottle. I am not one to complain but this has been my go to brand to purchase make up .. but the sales consultants are just senseless as it was a waste of my time and the best they said they could do is tape my lipstick up which is obviously something I could have done for myself. Pathetic service.... I could have just heard that over the phone without driving in harsh conditions. I am well aware of companies T&Cs just dont waste people's times ! People have alot to learn about customer service
