Time and money WASTED

I am generally sceptical of extended warranties - on anything, but especially vehicles. However, this time around I was convinced that it would be a good idea as I extended a manufacturer's warranty on a vehicle at the respective car dealership - not even a random second-hand car dealership. In doing so, M-sure had no hesitation and/or questions in accepting the premium for the policy.

Nonetheless, a month later I had to claim. The claim was instantly rejected by M-sure call centre agents who app**** arbitrary criteria not contained in the policy documents. I did not accept this and consequently filed a complaint. Then suddenly the vehicle was assessed by an assessor. When I enquired as to why an assessor was deployed not from the start, M-sure confirmed that it was because I had filed a complaint. From this, I deduced that they were bargaining on me simply accepting the initial rejection and moving on. What is more, M-sure confirmed that the specific criteria advanced as a reason for rejection was not contained in the policy documents. The process with the assessor took two weeks! In all that time the vehicle had to stay at the repairers. I also had to make regular follow-ups as no one bothered to report back. I am also still waiting for them to contact me regarding and/or provide me with copies of the recordings of our telephone conversations.

At the end of the day, the claim was still rejected and I subsequently had the car fixed at my own expense. I decided to file a further complaint with their underwriters (Regent) in respect of the manner in which this claim was dealt with - so as to avoid similar situations in future. Ja... TWO weeks and FOUR emails later the only feedback I have received are four automated emails indicating the following:

"If you have lodged a complaint, kindly allow us eight (8) working hours to respond with an official Complaint Number. We will contact you should additional information be needed in order to resolve your complaint; and also correspond during and upon resolution of your complaint."

In short: A complete waste of time and hard-earned money!

Never. Ever. Again.
