Same as no warranty at all

I have been without my vehicle for over 2 months now with SA warranties constantly looking for an escape to reject my claim

My BMW had a warning light coming on the cluster and as a safety precaution I then took the vehicle in for inspection and BMW later came back with a quote of around R25000

I then submitted the claim to SA warranties and carefully reviewed my cover and knew that the parts to be replaced were covered

In accordance to SA warranties there are different divisions of the engine systems same as all other warranty companies however I will list only a few significant for the purpose of this review

The categories or divisions in question according to my plan are

1. Engine components with a max benefit of R30000

2. Engine Management System Max benefit R9000

From a business perspective it may be strategic to opt for the cheaper category and attribute all the parts to the same category which is essentially what Sa warranties did in my case

BMW confirmed all the parts fall within engine components however SA warranties came up with their own classification and indicated the parts fall within engine management systems which shocked BMW when i indicated this to them

As the car had been out for over 2 months now I decided to cover the amount from my own capacity.

As the work had been conducted BMW then later on picked up a new fault as the car had now been misfiring and needed to have the ignition coils replaced. I then relayed this communication with Sa warranties who to my dismay later came back with a reply that the new parts to be replaced still fall within the same category. Shocking right well that's essentially what Sa warranties did with me

So my advice to you is if you looking for an extended motor warranty on your vehicle stay away from Sa warranties they will reject your claim even if they can not come up with a logical explaination as to why. Having a cover with SA warranties is the same as non having any warranty at all
