Poor Claim Rejection in favour of the insurance company, why have insurance?
Dear Ombudsman,
The attached claim has been rejected due to below mentioned one-sided claim
The work was completed without authorization. – The vehicle had to be moved by the mechanical garage as they required the lift to repair other vehicles, you can understand that a mechanic can’t stand and wait for an assessor to arrive with a vehicle in the air when they have 10 other jobs to complete. As all of you know you can’t move a vehicle without the CV in the vehicle. - There was grease found on the control arms and there are signs of contamination (dirt in the grease) indicating that the CV boot was leaking. – Majority of CV’s are repaired due to damaged boots, so why have a disclaimer when an insurer should cover the claim. In no vehicle checklist have I ever seen a CV joint boot been checked by any garage. You only check a CV once the CV starts making a noise and majority of the claims are due to damaged boots. I Don’t agree with the policy and the disclaimer is totally unfair to the consumer. If you require any further information please don’t hesitate to contact me for assistance. Regards Mark
