M-Sure and Regent Scratch and Dent - stay away!

We took out scratch and dent cover with Regent and have never claimed until recently. Firstly, when claiming for wheel alignment, we were sent to Hi-Q inClairwood, being told just to make a booking which we did only to find that Hi-Q was not even on the list of providers - stood for an entire afternoon, while the owner and my husband were trying to work out why nobody there knew anything about the claim. We also lodged a claim for the steering wheel, gear knob and plastic panels that were scratched, all covered in the policy. We received a letter back, stating that the claim was repudiated because the steering wheel would cost over R1,500 - no mention of the gear knob or plastic panels. After spending 40 minutes on the phone on the number given on the letter and transferred to 4 different people, I was told that the steering wheel cost over R1,500 and that I could get independent quotes for the items, I rep**** that I had had no correspondence re the other items and was told that the claim was put through collectively and when I mentioned that I would then resubmit the claims separately, I was told I couldn't do that either. My advice, stay away from M-Sure and Regent - they clearly have no idea what they're doing and it seems to be in a shambles. We have insurance with another company who are an absolute pleasure to deal with - but dealing with M-Sure is an utter nightmare and exercise in frustration.
