Avoid this supplier at all costs – terrible workmanship and zero accountability

We placed a custom shopfitting order with Lyte in good faith, paying R23,450 upfront based on their design specs. What we received was a disaster — and it arrived seven weeks after the promised delivery date.

- Steel-framed oak veneer counters arrived with skew frames — the drawers don’t even close properly. - The mobile display case was unusable: doors wouldn’t shut, hardware was falling off, wheels came off almost immediately (which we had to fix ourselves). - They simply didn’t install agreed-upon components like the LED strips and fixed glass panels.

When we followed up, we were met with empty promises and repeated no-shows. Instead of showing up to take accountability and resolve the issues, the owner sent someone else to apologise on his behalf — on the very day he was supposed to be at our premises.

To add insult to injury, the owner then attempted to shift the blame to us, claiming that we had damaged the counters during transport — a logic-free statement, given that delivery was handled entirely by their own team.

Weeks have turned into months, and despite numerous attempts to engage, there’s still no resolution.

We’ve issued a formal demand. This kind of shoddy service and disregard for basic commercial standards needs to be exposed.

If you’re a business looking for professional fittings or quality workmanship — look elsewhere.

Reviewer Update
On 22 July 2025, the company in question contacted me with a request to withdraw this review before they would even consider collecting and repairing the faulty units they had produced. This kind of manipulative tactic is deeply disappointing and entirely unacceptable.
As a business owner myself, I understand that mistakes can happen and that service may occasionally fall short of expectations — that’s part of running a business. However, taking responsibility and resolving issues should be a given, not a negotiation tool. Holding customer satisfaction hostage in exchange for silence reflects poorly on the company’s integrity and commitment to accountability.

The review stays.
