returned item

I received a pair of earrings from this store as gift from a friend , the first time I wanted to wear them they broke , I returned them to the store today and explained it was a gift so did not have a till slip . I was refused a replacement pair or a refund or a credit . Just found it very strange that they would not believe me . I have a business aswell and if something is wrong or faulty I replace no questions asked . I don't feel I would ever shop there again . Very dissapointing and I am embarrassed to tell the person who bought them for me the story . Just a very horrible experience .
