Lovisa jewellery unfair policy

I purchased 5 sets of sterling silver gold plated loop earrings for R 1530 in sealed boxes, yesterday on 10/2/22 from Lovisa La Lucia Mall, only to realise they were too huge when I got home. I totally understand covid protocol in not exchanging certain items, but in sealed boxes that cannot be opened is unacceptable. It’s *******. If that is the case then the public shouldn’t be buying these earrings for the same reason they state we cannot exchange. My R 1530 which is a lot of money now goes down the drain.
