Bad customer service, rude shop assistant and ********!

Towards the end of April 2019 I bought a couple of jewelry items from Lovisa The Glen. As I was browsing through the shop I asked for her assistance, she was not friendly and brushed me off. A white woman came into the store she was attending to her within seconds with a broad smile. Minutes later I confronted her, she told me that she's always after white women, she keeps an eye on them as they usually *****.

I bought a pack containing 5 pairs of earrings, nose ring, belly ring and the another pair of earrings which were bought as a gift. The sales lady on duty as she was cashing the items she gift wrapped the earrings and put them in a gift pack. I gave a friend the pack on 30 April 2019 on her birthday. She sent me a picture thanking me for the earrings.To my surprise I was puzzled and shocked that these are not the earrings I purchased. These were completely different styles and the ones that were in the pack were probably the cheapest pair in the shop.

On the 15th of May I went to the store to query the transaction. She remembered clearly the earrings I purchased. The sales lady was rude, questioned my integrity saying that I trust my friend's word over hers, refused to give me her name as I asked for the manager's name as well. She replaced the earrings, called me again whilst I was busy at the shopping center demanding the earrings back as she said her stock balances.

She called her manager, between the 2 of them my friend had to explain and describe the exact wrapping, pack and earrings received.

The sales lady was equally rude to my friend and was appalled by such behavior. I insisted that the footage could be viewed of the day I made the purchase and clearly she switched the items.

At the end of the day the correct earrings were provided. I spent collectively over R2000 at this shop over the last few years. Also the purchase that includes these earrings was well over R1000.

It's unbelievable that customer service is not app**** in this country and the stress that one undergoes for corrective action to be taken.

Ladies beware when buying gifts, do not trust that what is wrapped is the real thing!
