False promises and non-delivery

My order reference is XMGM-165-BA20.

I paid for the order on 12Dec,2017, and amount of R467, albeit the order was R466. The order specifications and details showed all the goods to be in stock, and delivery could be within 24hours. It was a Tuesday when I paid, and the payment reached Loots immediately, as I offered to pay extra to Capitec for immediate release of the payment. It cost me R10 extra to do that.

I was sceptical at first, for the online ordering and delivering at this time of the year and didn't also take heed from a friend in Wales, whom I ordered the book for. Given that I thought I would have a few days on hand, as I didn't think the order would take almost two weeks to reach me, this is nothing less than devastating.

I also ordered toys for my grandson, thinking my daughter could take it with her to Cape Town, when she departs on the 21 Dec., 2017, but alas, all the plans crumbled and all I would be left with are excuses to those persons I disappointed now in hindsight.

Besides the breach of the promises Loot online makes on their website, re: 24hrs delivery and "in stock", they don't tell their customers that when they opt for the "supposed free delivery", you are not given a choice, but they pick the "economy courier", which is at the lowest rung of the delivery options, and can include delivery time of 7days??

This is not specified and if I knew that they could have stuck their "free delivery service" where the sun don't shine.

From the time of payyment, 12/12/2017 and the order being place on dispatch, 19/12/2017, it would take another seven(7) days from there for the order to reach me(or it's destination).

Believe you me, if I know what I know now, I would be hard to convince that the saving online justifies the inconvenience, false promises and expectations you hope for.

I would easily have gone to the shops or malls to shop around or shopped online for the best prices and thereafter go and purchase it.

My message is for those who consider Loots online shopping, beware of the pitfalls -as nothing is what it seems, and the promises made when you shop the product online is deceptive, the free delivery service is the worst and I always maintain, for everything you are offered "Free", there is a price to pay, for that "free offer /gift", either time or inconvenience.

I'm not sure whether my products will be dispatched on the 19/12/2017, as I have been promised and obviously it would arrive so late on my doorstep, that if I was a kid, I would have wanted to rant and rave, and break all those toys upon receiving it, that latent anger is instilled in that...a joy turned into a sadness, disappointment.
