Steer Clear of LOOT.co.za for ANY Purchases! Ignore this warning at your own peril.
Bought a Lenovo Notebook from Loot. The keyboard is now faulty after only a few months of light usage. We then got in touch with Loot at the beginning of the week to organize a warranty repair/exchange. 3 days later we followed up as the notebook was not collected yet by the courier as promised, and we were informed that the representative dealing with our case is off sick, so the courier was never booked. Subsequently, we were promised someone else will take over the case and get the courier to collect the unit, but as of today (4 days later) we are still waiting. Followed up again today as to how long the actual repair/exchange will take, and Shé (she refused to give me her surname) explained the process to me as follows: The unit will get booked in at Loot offices, and some undisclosed time later it will be sent to their IT assessment company, where it will go into a queue for 2-3 weeks before it gets assessed. After all this, they will either repair or replace the product. I made it clear to Shé that we cannot afford to be without our business PC for such an extended amount of time, and she sincerely apologized for the inconvenience caused. I told her that her sincere apology does not pay the bills and asked to speak to her manager (Laura - also apparently a surnameless, email-less, landline-less individual) but she is conveniently not in the office today, and will apparently phone me back on Monday. I also asked to speak to the product manager but was informed that they are not contactable by the public - Joe Soap - You and me. Lesson learnt: Don't EVER buy ANYTHING again from Loot. Stick to the big guys with proper returns policies and customer service: Takealot etc.
