Delivery Disaster from Loot.co.za
I placed an order through Loot.co.za and paid for the delivery. The item was delivered when I was not at home and was given to a casual labourer that I do not know personally working outside my property who I had employed for the day. The casual labourer was asked to sign on my behalf and accept the package. I have emailed Loot.co.za three days ago expressing my displeasure at this unprofessionalism and I have not received any response as yet. My email correspondence appears below:
---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Jerard ********** Date: Mon, 3 Dec 2018 at 08:59 Subject: Complaint: Delivery of Loot.co.za order RKJP-210-B030 To: **********
Good morning
My name is Jerard and I have a complaint regarding the delivery of my recent order.
I ordered a SanDisk flash drive on Thursday and paid for the delivery of the item. The item was delivered to my address on Sunday at approximately 11.00.
My complaint is that I was not informed that the item would be delivered at that time.
When the item had arrived, I was not at home and I had a casual labourer who I did not know personally working in my garden. The courier person tried to phone me only once he was at my premises. I was at church at the time and did not have my phone with me.
The courier person advised the gardener that he had phoned and spoken to me personally prior to the delivery. The gardener was then asked to sign for and accept the item on my behalf. I do not have any information about the courier person except the number that he tried to contact me on when he had arrived at my premises - ********** .
It is deeply concerning that Loot can deliver paid-for items to third-parties who may not necessarily hand over those delivered items to the rightful owner.
Although Loot is a convenient platform for purchasing goods online, I will seriously reconsider future purchases due to the unprofessionalism of the delivery process.
Regards
Jerard
