Complete ******* and ****

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Complete *******. You can see the other reviews as well. The only price they told me was R295 call out fee. They came out and changed a small lock on my canopy and then gave me an invoice of R4000. No warning, no heads up. Definitely didnt cost them anything close to that to do the service. Absolute ******* and *******s, stay far away from them.

Lock Boys is a ****! They tell you its R295 then it costs R2190!

I am only 19 years old and recently had a terrible experience with Lock Boys. I locked my keys in my car and called them for help. On the phone, they told me the total cost would be R295. At no point did they explain that this was only a call‑out fee or that there would be additional charges. When the technician arrived, they did not provide an invoice, did not disclose the full cost before unlocking my car, and simply went ahead with the job. After a one‑minute unlock on a standard car, they demanded R2190. This is outrageous and completely disproportionate. Their SMS message said “Call out is R295 and there might be additional costs the technician can decide.” But according to the Consumer Protection Act, service providers must give customers a proper estimate upfront and obtain consent before proceeding. Hiding behind vague wording and then springing excessive charges afterward is deceptive and ********. Lock Boys failed to comply with basic consumer rights: - No upfront disclosure of the full cost. - No invoice or written breakdown of charges. - Misleading representation of the “total cost.” This company’s practices are exploitative and dishonest. I strongly advise others never to contact Lock Boys. They disregard the Consumer Protection Act and take advantage of customers in vulnerable situations.

Terrible experience

Extremely poor! If there were zero stars I would put that. Call out fee is correct R295. Then you get charged an extreme opening fee, the locksmith does not consult with you on a price before commencing the work. Charging for a public holiday when it was in fact NOT a public holiday. I asked for a price on the phone but they couldn’t provide me with one. Only to not get one before everything was done. 1099 Hanny St

Price *******.

Service was prompt but pricing is a *******. I gave the make, model & year of the vehicle that needed to be unlocked. The technicians special 'tool' was a wire to try and reach the interior door handle or bonnet release. It didnt work. So I googled and executed the solution myself and was charged over R2000. I have reached out to Lockboys but had no response. I would not recommend purely based on pricing.

Outrageous Cost

My colleague was charged R1,895 plus a R295 call-out fee by Lockboys ***) after accidentally locking the key in their car. The locksmith took less than two minutes to unlock a 2014 Getz – quick service, yes, but at an absolutely outrageous cost. This was also at 8am, during normal business hours. This feels like nothing short of a rip-off. How would you feel paying over R2,000 for such a simple job?
