Refusing to give me back my deposit

I am not happy and I want my deposit back from live easy apartments in Pretoria Steve biko road, I wrote an email on the 16th of July 2025 informing them that as from the 1st of August 2025 till the 31st of August 2025 I will be serving a notice that I will be moving out which according to me was a months notice that I was giving them, according to them they are saying that I shouldn't have sent them an email early and for that I won't be getting my deposit back what nonsense is that really, please assist I want my deposit back.
