This is not the best place and I would NOT recommend it to anyone looking for affordable accommodation in Johannesburg. The rooms are built with drywall and not brick and cement which means sound and smells travel easily between rooms. I have battled on countless days and nights with inhaling smoke from neighbours smoking cigarettes and ****, hearing loud noises and walls banging while neighbours are having *** day or night and being woken up by neighbours talking or snoring at odd hours because the walls are so thin. In Winter you can hardly open your windows because of the cold so you may end up being disturbed by second-hand smoke inhalation of **** or cigarettes. The construction of the place is so poor that mould grows on strange places on the walls. It's not the ideal place to stay in if you want your deposit back when you move out and if you value your peace of mind and money. You may even spot ****roaches in your room because the place is packed too closely together. The management is also highly ineffective. When you complain about issues, they do very little to address them. I once was told by another tenant that management suggested they move to a different room when they reported persistent issues instead of dealing with the issue itself. Even though the lease agreement says that "Disorderly conduct" and nuisances to neighbours are prohibited and may be dealt with, they are not and it is severely frustrating. The most management does is constantly send emails and SMSes to tenants warning about the rules and regulations and making updates to these and stating the consequences of violating these rules but when you report issues stated in these emails to management, they don't follow through. It's just empty threats and it is extremely frustrating. Management also needs training in being professional in how to interact with clients. Before I moved in here, I was drawn to the beautiful suburban surrounding neighbourhood and convenience of shopping centres and public transport sites but when I moved in here I battled with issues almost every day and month after month. It is severely anxiety-inducing and stressful. The peace of mind you lose in staying here and the numerous issues you encounter with inconsiderate neighbours is not worth your money. If you are a young or old working professional or family, please do not move here! This place is basically a student residence and the management here is not helpful in dealing with persistent issues. As I write this, I am dealing with **** smoke from the neighbours yet again.
