Shocking customer service
I have been on maternity leave for 3 months and I have not received a single UIF payment. I paid Little ****** UIF to process my claim for me in June 2018 ands still, to date, nothing seems to have been done. Their communication has been appalling, in fact, I have to keep emailing or phoning them to find out what is happening. If I do not constantly keep following up, I would not hear anything. The lady in charge, Stephanie, is extremely rude and not helpful at all. I keep getting the same automated response blaming my employers for not submitting forms (which they have). Had I known the service would be this shocking, I would have done my UIF claim myself. I am now R500 + out of pocket, which I paid to Little ****** UIF for nothing. How are everyday people supposed survive if this UIF money is what they rely on and this is the shocking service we are offered? I would really appreciate my UIF to be paid out BEFORE I go back to work on the 1 November 2018.
Good day,
As per many communication back and forth and follow ups, non of the employment history was updated. Communication of this was sent to you each time. We submit the declarations on behalf of you the client, but it remains employers responsibility to be compliant and to stay compliant. We did provide all the instructions for manual submission and payroll submission to ensure that DOL gets the correct information. We are independent from DOL and don't capture history on DOL system. We provide info on what is needed and how to rectify it.
Standard capturing time frame set out on capturing of declarations is 7-15 working days.
We follow it up after 7-10 working days and then provide the feedback to the client (you) if employment was not yet updated, you get notified if it is updated the claim gets escalated for approval.
It was noted in an email you sent us that the employer did submit. This was only done is Sep 2018, 2 months after your leave has started, As per instructions we request to be cc'd in the submission so we can have a paper trail of the "employers" declarations submission. No such email was received of a submission form employers.
After that we followed up within the time frame above stipulated and informed you that employment is still an issue, and then unfortunately that lead to this...
Apologies if we came through as rude, but the problem is that employers don't declare and people like us trying to assist get in the line of fire but this is not our job as we are not employed by those employers to keep them compliant, thus why we have it stipulated in the agreement that we cannot be held responsible for employment history / declarations that are not up to date.
You are welcome to request the Carte Blanche insert from our office that was aired Nov 2017 about this very SAME ISSUE!!!
