Liquor City please teach your staff how card transactions work: My partner went to get drinks for us, last week Friday, at Liquor City Stoneridge using my FNB bank card. The store refused to handover the goods because the transaction was 'reserved', the store manager advised that we could only get our drinks if the payment was successful and was reflecting in the store's account. When l contacted my bank, they advised that the payment is pending with store's bank and not with FNB. When the message was relayed to the manager, he insisted on being provided with proof. I then asked my bank to send me the bank statement that reflects the transaction and forwarded it, the manager still refused to hand over the goods and insisted he can only do so once he has the funds in his account. In the end, my partner left the store with nothing and l only gained the R40 bank transaction fee that was incurred when i requested the statement. I had to make contact with the store again on Monday to have the funds reserved.
