The HORROR of 122000 km
04/02/2019 Mrs SC Smit ********** 042085 **********
To whom it may concern Hyundai Accent 1.6 GLS, Registration CT99MRGP was bought on 15/04/2014 and run under a services plan provided by Liquid Capital (Pty) Ld. Everything was smooth sailing and the car went for the following services Service Kilometres when service 1) 15000 15097 2) 30000 29939 3) 45000 46563 4) 60000 60206 5) 75000 75675 6) 90000 92359
When we took the car for services number 7 on 18/12/2017 we got the unhappy news that the service plan has expired and we have to pay for the service our self. Being a pensioner I do not like the unexpected surprises and apply for a new plan to be instituted.
7) 105000 103917 With the payment off service number 7 by ourselves, the service plan ran un-interrupted from the day of purchase without missing a single required service and I was baffled when I was told that there will be a waiting period off 4 months before the new plan will activate. Meaning: Any service implemented in the first 4 months was for our own account. We accept the condition and our first payment was made on 01/03/2018 and on every month thereafter.
On 01/06/2018 we received WRITTEN CONFIRMATION that our plan was activated for either 3 years or 45000 kilometre, whatever comes first.
So far we made the following payments 01/03/2018 369.24 04/04/2018 249.24 03/05/2018 251.43 01/06/2018 251.43 02/07/2018 251.43 01/08/2018 254.13 01/09/2018 251.43 01/10/2018 251.43 01/11/2018 251.43 02/12/2018 251.43 02/01/2019 251.43 Total 2881.35
As we have paid and it is now 11 months after the prescribed 4 months, we made an appointment with your branch for the next services. 08) 120000 But was informed that we do not qualify although this agreement was formalized on 01/06/2018. On their document they state that next service will be at 122000 kilometres and as it was 2000 kilometres more than what the service manual prescribed it did seemed a bit out of the ordinary but we thought rather a typing error. Now we are told that, that 122000 excludes us from the 120000 services. If we don’t do the 120000 service and pay for it ourselves, the service plan will be invalid as it is an required services and cannot be extended to 122000. They will only start paying from the 135 000 services . At an average of 1000 kilometres per month it will take us another 15 months of monthly premiums before we would reach the 135000 km service . Basically it will take us two and a half years off the 3 year plan before we can claim a services. The plan will now have cost us 2881.35 paid already 5119.00 120 000 service cost 3766.95 paid for the next 15 months to get to 130 000 km 11767.3 before we qualify for the service plan.
The crux’s of the matter lies in the 122000 km. Was it a typing error or a deliberate designed, well executed, malicious attempt to de***** unsuspecting clients of Hyundai Surely a case like this must have a fall out on the reputation of all Hyundai traders
Please note that the original service Log was lost, but filled in on a new book by the DEALER. All lost services can be backed by invoicing as proof off services done and available on request.
On 26/02/2019 I was contacted by Liquid Capital by being the bearer of good news. (This call is recorded, as the previous one, for security reasons) They will refund me the R2881.35 rand paid and institute a new services plan based on the following. 1) I have to pay for the 120000 km service my self (R5119.00) 2) Can’t claim any services for 4 months 3) They will include the 135000 service (As it will take me another 15 months to get there)
Also note that the registration number on the contract is wrong, (an accident, as it was just an extension off the previous contract where it was correct or deliberate as another loophole?)
Could you maybe assist or advice in this matter Regards Hennie Smit
