Renault Duster Clutch Fiasco Liquid Capital

<p>We have a 2014 Duster 1.5 DCi 4x4 with just short of 50k on the clock and when we went down on 30/12/2016 while climbing a hill just outside of Howick the clutch packed up on us. I pulled to the side and tried the Renault Assist but they were of no assistance at all so I called my policy's assistance programme who arranged for us to be towed to the closest Renault in Pietermatitzburg. There they made us sign for a quote of around R16 500k for if the maintenance did not pay as the clutch is not seen as a warranty item. when we phoned then a week later the estmate had risen to R33.9k and the maintenance Liquid Capital had refused to pay as they said that it not caused due to normal wear and tear but that material had been removed and all sorts of *******. How could we have got in there to remove material? How can a Flywheel break - surely that should be covered under the maintenance/warranty. The vehicle gave us no indication that there was a problem before this and had just been for her 45k service. This seems very convenient that it comes close to the end of the contract as well.</p>
