Cancellation Blues

I have comprehensive car insurance with First For Women through Liquid Capital. I have been trying to cancel the policy for just under a month now (first request was on 29th August 2016), and I was told I would receive confirmation within 48 hours, after the first 48 hours passed I contacted them and they sent me to First for women who then sent me back to liquid capital, this took place up until the October premium was deducted from my account yesterday which is what I was avoiding in the first place hence I put in a request within good time.

I am now at a situation where my car has two comprehensive insurance policies and both premiums have been deducted from my account leaving me in an uncomfortable financial position when the aim was to save.

I have sent several emails to retentions and not one of them was responded to, I just recieved an email with no name or signature from policy services where I am being told to cancel my own account, I am not sure what is happening there but I am extremely unhappy.
