Unresolved problem with Linteg Fibre connection continuously dropping.
Since shortly after Linteg started installing Fibre connections in Mkhondo (Piet Retief), all users who had upgraded to Linteg Fibre started complaining about appalling speeds - often 10% of that for which we are paying. Eventually, as a token of apology, Linteg informed all users in Mkhondo that they would not have to pay for three months. To be fair, it seemed as though, in this time, many problems were indeed sorted out. However, the entire town then started experiencing intermittent connections - sometimes on for 15 or 20 minutes (often less, such as two minutes), and then off for a minute or two and then on again. For those of us working remotely and depending on a stable internet connection in order to have online meetings, this is a huge problem and embarrassment. I, and many others using Linteg (who has a monopoly on the fibre in our town) repeatedly report this to Linteg who apologises "for the inconvenience caused", but after many months, the problem has still not been resolved. When reporting this, the support agent switches the connection off and on remotely and if the problem is not resolved in this way (which it never is) they then promise to get back to the client, which seldom if ever happens. After almost a year, one would have hoped that the teething problems would have been resolved. But this did not happen. In fact, we as clients have to continue paying for a sub-standard service which, when it works, is wonderful, but for the most part we have to be satisfied with a service that switches off and on throughout the day, causing huge frustrations during online meetings or other services where we are dependent on a constant connection. On 14 December I once again logged a ticket (#56911) and was promised (once again) that someone would contact me the following day to resolve the issue. Needless to say, Linteg, once again, over promised and under delivered. Meanwhile it seems as though Linteg Fibre expects of their clients to be satisfied with continued "connection shedding". Come on Linteg, surely you can do better than this!
