Link Africa Broken Promises and Chaos
1. Link Africa did not phone me even though Vodacom asked them to do so more than once. I had to get someone who knows someone to get Link Africa to respond.
2. Andrew from Link Africa phoned me yesterday at 1PM to come to my house. I told him I would be there at 5PM. He then said to me the would be there in twenty to thirty minutes. Is 13h30 the new 5PM? I was in the office and told him this. Luckily, my sister lives nearby. Andrew arrived at some random time and phoned me to say he was at the gate. I had to phone my sister quickly to ask her to go to my house. Once there, Andrew asked her for a two pin plug and left when she could not give him one (I moved in recently and the place is under construction, so two pin plugs are not lying around. He left and told my sister I should phone him today and that he would come to my house after 8. When is after 8? 8h10? 12h15? He had first wanted me this morning to do his job and to set up things by giving me telephonic instructions even though I had already left home - I do actually have a job to go to.
3. This morning, I phoned Andrew at about 7h30. He told me he could only come out at about 11 or 12 but would let me know the exact time. He would phone me, he said, to tell me. I asked him to phone my sister instead. Logically, he asked for her cell number. However, when I started to give it to him, he said he could not take it down as he was driving, and wanted me to SMS it. Why did he not say this the first time? I SMSed the number.
4. I have just spoken with my sister (12h49) and she says Andrew has not phoned her. I made sure I organised two prong plugs for her as Andrew seems unable to carry a simple adapter with him for his job.
Andrew also seems to think that everyone is always at home the whole day, just waiting for him, and that he does not need to make or keep proper appointments.
When will Link Africa actually come to the party and do what they are supposed to do, or should I tell Vodacom Link Africa is about to cost them a customer?
