LINK AFRICA AND FTTH AND BURST WATER PIPE

On 22nd July 2019, Link Africa sent contractors to our house to dig the trenches for FTTH. These contractors who work for a Lyle ***) hit our main water pipe, which in turn damaged our geyser as it filled up with sand, plus the water leak could only be repaired the following day, so the water loss was astronomical. We claimed from ABSA insurance had the geyser repaired and we requested Lyle to refund the excess we had to pay, with no success. Now our August water account has been received and our water alone is R3698.40, our average water bill over the past 8 months is around R750 per month. Once again we have been in contact with Lyle, who either ignores the call or makes excuses why he can't talk etc, we've been in contact with Mike from Link Africa who has also not resolved this issue. We are owed R3198.40 by Link Africa and want this issue resolved as we CANNOT afford to pay this amount on our own. Any assistance would be appreciated.

I would appreciate that, as it's now going into the third month with no satisfactory solution, surely we can come to some sort of compromise.

Hi Charlene, we have been updated that you and Stephen have since been in contact with Lyle and your refund will be claimed from his insurance. :) Have a lovely day

Mike Thomas from Link Africa was brilliant, he made contact with me and arranged to pay us what the contractor owed us and we were able to pay the monies directly into the water & lights account, so a big thank you to Mike, without your intervention no doubt we would still be waiting to have this matter resolved.
