Wilgeheuwel Life Hospital shocking service

Wilgeheuwel Life Hospital. I was admitted from ER to General ward on arrival with excruciating pain. Dr Pieter Swart and Dr Lalani diagnosed with Gall bladder infection. Already the nursing staff in Section 6 were very reluctant to help me to the bath or make sure my drip was running. This started on Thursday and I had my procedure done on Sunday. I ended up having drips inserted in 4 different parts of my hands as they could not get it right. Different nurses would come and do this. So I would be asked who moved your drip I wouldn't remember exactly. This made them angry. In High Care after the op I was in so much of pain and had not eaten since I got to the hospital due to the pain I had been experiencing. 3 hours after surgery and no water or visit from doctor. The nurses only act on his orders which is understandable. But they don't understand how you feel after the procedure. You need some water atleast. I called my husband to ask Dr rooms to check up on me. This made the staff very upset. I was never rude to any staff. We just wanted assistance. The staff from this point was unwilling to assist me to the point the Surgeons office nurse had to come take over my care and she was swamped because they are only 2 who work in the surgery. I felt terrible for her. Although many male were present they never offer her any help. Whilst waiting to be taken to Gen ward which I was told will only happen at 3pm, a young physio the****** in training was sent to help me get off the bed. The downside a patient could suffer from this process was not taken into account. As a result I fainted and the nurse broke my fall as the Physio was too tiny to have been able to assist. Had the nurse not been there I would have gotten hurt very badly. Fortunately some people who were (physio staff) down there helped the nurse put me back on the bed. Eventually I was taken to Gen ward 7 where the nursing staff were not happy to be attending to me. They deliberately delayed service to our room thus affecting the service of the other 3 ladies in my ward. There was some kind of warrior upliftment happening outside our ward. I could hear everyone consoling someone named Amanda who was crying and saying the patient is a *****! Then she was crying to her mother. So it seemed a mother and daughter worked together at this nursing station. This Amanda who I don't recall was a mess and seemed to have directed her anger towards me. Even during the day she went on a tantrum hurling verbal abuse and threatening physical violence. Am certain if the hospital has cameras they would pick this incident up. I tried to chat to the nursing head to find out if everything is ok, and she said very irritated that it was fine. I spoke to my surgeon whom did not want to comment. I asked to be discharged as it seemed I was been harrassed rather than taken care of after such a painful procedure. He granted my discharge reluctantly. I have seen many complaints against the nursing staff of this hospital but experienced it firsthand. It's a shame because there are some fantastic nurses who are committed and do their jobs very well. They get a bad name because of the others. I had to share this experience so others be aware of what they may run into.
