Unprofessional, Undignified treatment

Deeply disappointed in the manner my wife was treated. My wife had a procedure done on Wednesday 03 April. She was booked into Birch Ward and was treated very well until she was moved to Protea Ward at approx. 6pm. She had come out of theatre was extremely hungry, under anesthetic very drowsy. The nursing staff at Protea ward was asked to bring my wife supper and her medication as she was under extreme pain. At 7:10 pm, we insisted we seethe Sister in charge as no supper was served and it was more than an hour and no supper was served. The Sister in charge promised to attend to the matter. A few minutes later 2 slices of egg with mayonnaise was served. My wife doesn't eat mayonnaise and the nurse promised to bring her something else. At 8pm the Dr Sonday arrived to attend to my wife post op. Dr did say my wife can leave as soon as she's had something to eat and urinated. We did mention to her and she addressed it with the nursing staff. My wife was extremely nauseous vomiting and hungry. I called The nurse to assist as the emergency electronic devise wasn't working . Finally my wife just lost her patience and insisted we walk to the nursing station and discharge herself as no one cared whether she starved or not. We went to the nursing station at 20h40 the sister in charge was having a good giggle with a doctor. I stated they have time to alugh and joke while patient's suffer. The doctor walked away. We expressed our disappointment but still no apology came from the sister in charge. She just phoned the pharmacy to send the medication which was delivered incorrectly to Cedar ward. After receiving the medication we departed. My wife was extremely weak, no apology and no wheelchair was provided. I had to slowly get my wife to the lift and downstairs. My wife waited at the main reception while I went to fetch the car. Upon my arrival, my wife was vomiting like crazy in the reception area. An off duty nurse waiting on her lift came to her assistance. I am deeply disappointed in the failure of the nursing staff at Vincent Pallotti to act in a professional manner, perform their duty with dignity and honour. I shall personally never recommend Vincent Palotti Hospital to anyone and will share my negative experience with anyone planning to use the hospital in the future.
