Unacceptable Handling of Physician Consultation – Life The Glynnwood Hospital

I am extremely disappointed with the way Life The Glynnwood Hospital has handled my request to see a physician.

During my hospital admission, I was supposed to be seen by a physician as per Dr Mohammed’s instruction. However, the staff failed to arrange this while I was admitted. Had it been done correctly at the time, the consultation would have been covered by my medical aid under my hospital plan.

Instead, after raising a complaint, the hospital arranged an appointment for me outside of my admission. Now, I am being told I must either pay R1500 upfront or wait for the hospital to send a guarantee letter/proof of payment to the physician’s office. On the day of my appointment (scheduled for 11:00), I am still chasing the hospital for this letter/payment confirmation.

This last-minute back-and-forth is unprofessional, stressful, and unacceptable. I should not be penalized financially or put under such pressure because of the hospital’s own oversight. Patients deserve proper care and fair treatment – not unnecessary stress caused by administrative failures.

I demand that Life The Glynnwood Hospital take full responsibility for their error, ensure my physician consultation is covered, and urgently improve their processes so that no other patient has to go through this frustration.
