Terrible experience at Life Groenkloof

Good day Trust you are well.

I would like to bring to your attention the disappointing service that I experienced at the ER on Friday 17 January 2025. We rushed my husband to the ER because he had unbearable head pain and chest pain we arrived at 21:10. He was taken to a bed and I was asked to open up a file. I went to reception to open up the file and when I returned at 21:21 no one had checked on him. At 21:35 I went to ask if anyone was going to check him because it was 20 mins and no one attended to him. I was advised he was not attended to because the nurses were waiting for his file. No blood pressure, no temperature, nothing was taken. at 21:45 he was moved to another bed to finally start checking his blood pressure and temperature and to do an ECG. When the doctor came at 22:10 he asked the nurses to move my husband to the Resus room to be monitored.

They then went on to draw blood. We waited for 3 hours for the results we were then told that his blood sample could not be found because they had not sent it to the lab, because the person who drew the blood left them on a table and forgot to send them to the lab. The doctor then advised he would call us with the results because the blood was only then being taken to the lab, this was 2am.

Today is Tuesday and we have not received any results or call from the doctor, yet my medical aid has been charged for the blood tests. This is unacceptable.

This is actually disgusting. We trust in hospitals to take care of our loved ones when they are ill because we don't know how to help them. My husband could have been having a heart attack or a stroke and you guys were waiting for a file which had already been opened.

It's funny how I had to put up a performance for my husband to be checked but when it came time to claim from the medical aid it was done on time.

I am not a doctor but even I know that when a person suffers with chest pain you need to seek immediate medical assistance. Yet you offer delayed medical Assistance.
