Terrible

I was very unimpressed with the treatment I received at Life Fourways.I arrived at 12pm for an operation scheduled to start at 2pm..By 345pm however, I was still in the short stay ward with no information about when my operation was scheduled to start. Finally a call from my mother to the superintendent at the hospital was the only thing that prompted a response from anyone else regarding the status of my operation. I was then moved to another ward where I was met by rather grumpy and irate nurses who seemed disengaged and uninterested. Finally at 6pm I was taken to theater to have my op done. I then returned to the ward after my op where the nurse barely paid attention to the me on arrival simply leaving a glass of water next to my bed. She did not take a moment to ask if i was OK or to ascertain if i needed to contact anyone.Despite my efforts to inform her that my specialist had given me the go ahead to be discharged, she proceeded to ignore me until my partner had had enough, got my specialist on the phone, who then assured the nurse it would be OK for me to leave if I could stomach a glass of water (Which I did). She finally obliged as if to imply she was doing me a favour!
