At reception, I provided my Discovery Medical Aid details (Classic Smart Comprehensive), and a file was opened. I waited until 13:10 to be seen, but the doctor informed me—without an examination—that I couldn’t be admitted as my plan wasn’t on the hospital’s network. I was there for a consultation, not admission, and have funds to cover costs. I felt dismissed and disappointed, especially as this wasn’t explained upfront at reception.
