Today my twins were both admitted the Springs Parkland hospital peads unit. The nurse that tried to force a nasal canula into her little nose just to be told by another sister its way to big. They were gone for almost 45 min with my daughter to put up. When they came back to the room her entire are was dark red turning blue like its not getting enough circulation. I questioned the nurse who told me they struggled to get a vein. They then took my son i could hear him screaming for almost an hour. Several nurses came to check on me just to say they battling to get a vein.but that did not stop them from poking him full of holes. I asked why a nicu nurse was not called. The response was they called the doctor to say they cannot find a vein. And if there is anything iv related they will see if they can get a nicu nurse. I took my son and went to the room. My twins were in nicu for 8 days they had several drip chances and not once was my son this traumatized. And the nursing staff just look at you like your unreasonable. Not once was I impolite until I decided I will not have them poke my son full of holes and have him screaming at the top of his lungs. If it was not 23:39. I would sign my kids out of this hospital. This is not the first bad taste this hospital has left in my mouth.
