Rude nurses

My mom-in-law has been in ICU for 5 weeks now on life support. If I can't visit her I call the ward to get an update on her status. I went there on Thursday only to find out that she had contracted a superbug called MRSA which is highly contagious - nobody bothers to call you if something happens and when you phone to get an update they say she's doing fine - even after she had 2 mini strokes, where once again no-one bothered to inform me. I am disgusted by the attitude of most of the nurses looking after her. Everything seems to be a secret and most of her conditions I had to read up about myself. The only time they call is if they want you to go sign a consent for something or if she had run out of her normal everyday medication. I'm the only family she has in SA and they give me attitude when I ask about her condition. Or I get told to speak to the infection control specialist and when I ask for a name they put the phone down on me.
