Poor Hospital Service
After going to the hospital on Friday 30th November to do the pre-admission for my wife to be admitted this morning Monday 3rd December and being informed we need to be at the hospital at 06h00. Upon arrival at the hospital I went in and enquired if a porter could help us with a wheelchair for my wife, I was told that there is no porters until 07h00 I must get a wheelchair and bring her in myself (I am 74 years old) but I did as was told. We then had to wait for over 30 minutes before being attended to even though I had taken the time to do "PRE-ADMISSION" after speaking to the patient relations person and being told again that there will be no porter until after 07h00 I ask if the hospital would accept responsibility for me having to push my wife to the ward should anything happen during the process. Suddenly a "Sister" became available to take mywife to the ward. I then went to move my vehicle only to find the wheel clamped, when I ask te secuirity guard who clamped my wheel he said his Supervisor did and I have to pay a R50.00 fine to unclamp the wheel. I then went back inside to the "Patient relations manager" and informed her of the clamping. She came out to the entrance and ask the secuirity guard who had clamped the wheeland he admitted he had done it (so he **** to me, wonderful advertisment for the hospital is it not) I refused to pay the R50.00 and the patient relations manager instructed the guard to unclamp my wheel. I think it is disgusting that a hospital that charges the rates that this one does treats pensioners in this manner.
