NURSING AT IT'S WORSE

My son has been admitted in fin 1,the care from the doctor was absolutely respectful and had my son's best interest as a patient. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for the disgusting attitude of the nurses displayed in this particular ward. The rudeness presented by Sr Lungi and Sr Veena Naidoo as well as the night super who shouldn't be in this profession she couldn't even act as a mediator,she was as loud as Lungi. We have been bul**** by those individuals. There was no orientation or a welcome letter letting us know the daily occurrence of the ward, how is a parent to know that she can not be with her son during this difficult time where he would need his family support. He's a 16 year old (as per the constitution, act 28 a child is under the age of 18 is regarded as a minor), so why am I being told by your nurses that my child is an adult and he can fend for himself... They attacked me and accused me of loittering the corridors when I was simply accompanying my son back to the ward, mind you the nurses did not assist him even thou he had a drain which restricted his movement as a parent where is the family centered care, where is the compassion or empathy the least? I was approached by your nurse Lungi in the harshes way and she did not identify herself with a name badge. Am I suppose to leave my son in the care of these individuals that have no morals and no respect for family support. This left my son feeling intimidated and depressed due to their behaviour towards me in my son's presence. When my son asked for juice apparently it was frozen and the kitchen is closed is he being victimized or is this the normality of Entabeni Life hospital, where is your batho pele principles, surely its not being practiced. Are your nurses suppose to be this uncaring, unthoughtful and disrespectful. Is this what Entabeni hospital moto is!!! I have been to many other healthcare institutions but never had I experienced such arrogant nurses, I'm appalled!!! Can somebody care to clarify!!! Awaiting your response!!!
