Medical Aid Rejection

<p>I was admitted to the Life Mt edgecombe Hospital on 27 December 2016 for the birth of my daughter. On 1 January 2016 i was discharged from the hospital. My stay and staff were amazing. I then unexpectadly received an email on 1 November 2016 - 10 MONTHS LATER - advising that there had been a shortfall due to a medical aid rejection. Now i am also covered by GAP in hospital, however, Claims are to be submitted within 6 months, failing which the claim is no longer valid. I have never received a telephone call nor correspondence prior to 1 November 2016 in regards to this matter. I have since repeatedly tried contacting the accounts department and have not been able to date to speak to anyone. I have also sent email correspondences to which i do not receive the courtesy of a response. I find this highly unacceptable. Private hospitals are so quick to say pay the money before we attend to you, but this is the after service patients receive. Absolutly disgusting.</p>
