*********** management of finance and administration at Fourways Life Hospital!!

I am writing out of sheer disgust and frustration about the administration and finance departments of Fourways Life Hospital. On 20th April my 5 year old grand daughter fell and injured her hand. My daughter was told that unless she paid up front almost R100k, the child could not be attended to. Having no medical aid, we did everything in our power to raise this money at short notice to ensure this 5 year old, writhing in pain, could be given medical treatment. Long story short, the treatment costs were much less than what was asked for. Since then we have done everything possible to get the refund of our money from the hospital to no avail. Having sent several emails to management and administration, it's been 3 weeks and we have been given every excuse possible, not to mention that the finance manager is now going on leave as of tomorrow, obviously, not having resolved this pending issue. We are not rich people, and it took a lot of effort to raise that money in a short while just so that the child could have immediate treatment. Firstly, they wouldn't treat a child unless that huge amount was paid yet they have the darn audacity to sit with money that does not belong to them! I am reaching out to anyone out there who can assist so that we can get justice. The child needs to go back. What happens now? Do they insist on further payment even though they have not refunded our money? Are they still working on how best they can run up that bill to maximize on the money paid so they don't refund us?
