Literally Stranger Than Fiction - Terrible Encounter

<p>Where do I begin …</p> <p>Firstly, without a doubt, Flora Clinic is the worst Hospital that I have ever had to go to.</p> <p>Even Helen Joseph provided better service … So that doesn’t say much for Flora Clinic.</p> <p>So, long story short, I was taken to Flora Clinic one evening because of difficulty breathing and chest pains.</p> <p>I was told to go get an X-Ray done (which is on the other side of the building) and to my surprise, I was not even offered a wheelchair? Okay?</p> <p>Anyway, eventually, the Doctor looked at the X-Ray and said there were no signs of any Infection etc .. yet he prescribed me Antibiotics? I even asked him, “Should we rather just wait to get the X-Ray Report tomorrow and see from there?” but no – he insisted.</p> <p>So over R300.00 was wasted that day on medication .. THAT I DIDN’T EVEN NEED.</p> <p>Upon my return, all they could do was send a nurse to me and say, “Everything is fine, you can go home”. Really? I threw a fit!</p> <p>Then, only THEN, did the Doctor on site even open my X-Ray Report! HAHA! WHAT A JOKE! … To find out that, in actual fact, I had a “Foreign Body” lodged in my throat????</p> <p>I freaked out – naturally.</p> <p>The Doctor then said I had to go and see an Orthopaedic Surgeon???</p> <p>I listened to the professional – what do I know?</p> <p>Oh wait, one WASTED specialist consultation later, I was told I was supposed to see an ENT for this.</p> <p>I eventually went to see an ENT (R900.00 upfront payment needed) … I had to do more X-Rays … Only to find out … There was actually NOTHING in my throat HAHA … It was just a clip on the gown that I took the X-Ray in at Flora Clinic … Wonderful …</p> <p>SO – me being as livid as I was – Contacted Flora Clinic to advise them about this … And what did they do? NOTHING – all they can tell me is a bunch of things that are untrue – the reply that I received from them stated things about “my condition” that were not even true? So why cover up everything instead of apologising?</p> <p>They have no clue what is going on in their own Hospital and quite frankly, now I know that they don’t even care either.</p> <p>Telling me that “things like this happen often”? … Wow … I feel so sorry for those other people … all that emotional distress … and being in debt …</p> <p>(Yes – I am now having to pay off all these amounts – R2 000.00 alone just for a few X-Rays that I didn’t even need) HAHAHA!</p> <p>I feel that this could have all been avoided if Flora Clinic just could have done an extra X-Ray to be certain, even refer me correctly or maybe just take interest in a patient from the start …</p> <p>It took me over 21 days to get Final Feedback from the Hospital …</p> <p>Which was actually pathetic in my mind … All they do is cover up … cover up and do some more covering up …</p> <p>I have now decided to take this to the Council of Medical Schemes – I have no more energy to fight this fight – for a damn apology!</p> <p>Just FYI – I went to a proper hospital and now know what the problem was from the beginning … If one hospital can figure it out, then why can’t the other?</p> <p>Anyway – I will never return there – I actually won’t even take my pets there.</p>
