Life Healthcare grossly overcharge patients. Wilgers Hospital on the forefront. They overcharge items over and above medical aid rates - medical aids whom are supposed to be contracted in. Trying to solve an account problem is useless, as they do not respond, and if they do respond, they come back to you weeks after the complaint with a promise to sort out the problem, just to start threats of suing you. Further more one is being referred from one person to the other without any feedback from anyone.

In several cases I have experienced that a Specialist refer you to, X-rays, then to sonars, scans etc. Upon discussing your problem, it transpired that the said specialist did not even LOOK at the very expensive imaging done. Just a money making enterprise.

Also late claims done by them and not being entertained by medical aid just falls into the poor patient's lap. Whether you can afford it or not. Complaints at Ombudsman useless, as they do not even come back to a person.
