LIFE WILGEHEUWEL HOSPITAL.

My husband was taken to Wilgeheuwel Hospital on Wednesday 10 March 2021. he was in their ER under the care of Dr Amy Elliot. He was in extreme pain. He was put on a morphine drip for the pain. The hosiptal could not locate our medical aid and the doctor decided to then transfer him to Charlotte Maxete hospital by ambulance. He was put in the medical ward where he was send back to ER where he was placed in a cubicle next to a naked woman who was screaming at the top of her lungs with pain (I am not complaining about her) He had to be tested for Covid 19. THERE WAS NO SOCIAL DISTANCING. The floor of the ER ward was covered in approximately 20 to 25 patients awaiting admisssion. He was in intense pain and had to get up and walk to find a doctor to give him something for pain. He is 67 years old. My complain is this, he was treated very badly. We do have a medical aid but they were to *********** to find it and would not take care of him till the next morning where they could sort out their admin to get our medical aid. No concern for his age, his pain and for the high risk of Covid 19.

The treatment at the government hospital is not the concern. They are dealing with high numbers and a deadly virus. I am highly upset with Life Wilgeheuwel Hospital. I do see on their reviews that people say that this hospital should be avoided at all times. I now am adding my voice to this. No dignity or caring for someone in acute pain and of an advantaged age. Shocking to say the least.
